Admission and Visa Process
The dream of studying in Switzerland doesn’t reach its destination with getting selected for the university. Along with selection, a student needs to have Visa to move and reside from one country to another. Switzerland is nothing different. The Visa process is a brainstorming task and it takes a lot of time to complete. A student should apply for the Visa just after getting the confirmation letter from the university, to join the course on time.
There are two types of Visas, differentiated on the basis of the duration of the course.
For the three months diploma or summer training courses, you need a short-term Schengen C Visa, while for the long term courses you have to apply for the national D Visa.
If you want to exceed the duration of your stay more than 90 days, you need a student residence permit from the cantonal migration offices after 14 days of arrival.
