In 2019, a new law was introduced that stipulated that you must prove that you have sufficient financial resources before coming to Germany (when you apply for a visa). This ensures that you can cover the costs of your studies.

Since 1 January 2021, the sum has been set at 861 euros per month, or 10,332 euros per annum and you have to prove that you have these funds when you apply for a visa. This can be done, for example, by supplying.

How much can I withdraw per month from my blocked account?

You can’t withdraw money directly from a blocked account in Germany, the blocked bank account releases 853 euros per month as monthly pay-outs to your savings account. You can withdraw money from your savings account.
